Refund policy
Time Armour — Return & Refund Policy
Effective Date: 10/01/2026 Last Updated: 10/01/2026
1. Overview
Time Armour products are precision-cut protective films designed for specific watch models, and Time Armour also offers paid Installation Services on customer-owned watches. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase or booking a Service.
Nothing in this policy limits the rights of the Customer ("you") under the Australian Consumer Law.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which together form the complete agreement between you and Time Armour. Definitions used in this policy have the same meaning as in the Terms of Service.
2. Change of Mind
We do not accept returns or refunds for change of mind, incorrect model selection, or personal preference after a Kit has been dispatched, or after an Installation Service has commenced, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Cancellations of Installation Service bookings prior to commencement are governed by section 8 of this policy. Exchanges of Kits are governed by section 7 of this policy.
3. Kits — Faulty or Defective Products
If a Kit is faulty or defective, you are entitled to a remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the nature of the fault, this may include replacement, repair, or refund.
A Kit is not considered faulty due to damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or failure to follow the provided instructions.
A Kit is also not considered faulty due to slight visible imperfections that arise from the inherent physical limitations of TPU film, including edge visibility, micro-bubbles, or minor surface variation on watches with aggressive curves, double-curved surfaces, complex case geometries, or unusual bracelet configurations. These are characteristics of the material itself and are not product defects.
Claims for faulty or defective Kits should be raised within thirty (30) days of receipt of the Kit. Claims raised after this period may be assessed at Time Armour's discretion based on the nature of the alleged defect, the evidence provided, and any rights the Customer may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
4. Kits — Installation Disclaimer
Damage caused during self-installation of a Kit, including stretching, creasing, contamination, misalignment, or removal marks, is not considered a product defect and is not eligible for return or refund.
Reduced film longevity caused by inadequate cleanliness of the watch at the time of self-installation is not considered a product defect.
5. Kits — Watch Damage
Time Armour Kits are designed to help protect surfaces but do not guarantee protection against all damage.
Time Armour is not responsible for damage to watches caused by incorrect self-installation, external forces, or normal wear and tear. This does not limit remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law where a Kit is proven to be defective.
6. Kits — Aftercare and Wear
Once installed, ongoing care of the film is the responsibility of the Customer. The Customer should avoid contact with chemicals, abrasive substances, or excessive loose cloth exposure, and handle the watch with reasonable care.
Damage or reduced longevity of the film caused by Customer use, mishandling, or accident after installation is not considered a product defect.
The following do not constitute a product defect or grounds for refund:
- Normal wear and tear of the film arising from regular use over time
- Accelerated wear caused by repeated friction with cloths, sleeves, fabrics, or other surfaces during normal wear
- Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, solvents, or extreme temperatures
- Issues arising from Customer modification or attempted removal of the film
- Reduced longevity arising from inadequate cleanliness of the watch at the time of installation (also covered in section 4)
Nothing in this clause excludes or limits the Customer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Kits — Exchange Option
Where a Customer has purchased the wrong Kit (for example, for the wrong watch model or reference) and wishes to exchange it for the correct Kit, Time Armour may, at its discretion, offer an exchange subject to all of the following conditions:
- The exchange request is made within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the Kit
- The Kit is returned unopened, unused, and in its original packaging
- The Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- Any difference in price between the original and replacement Kit will be charged or refunded as applicable
Exchanges are offered at Time Armour's discretion and are not a Customer right. Where an exchange is approved, the replacement Kit will be dispatched following receipt and inspection of the returned Kit.
8. Installation Services — Cancellations
8.1 Cancellation before the Customer Watch has been sent or delivered
You may cancel an Installation Service booking at no charge at any time before dispatching the Customer Watch (Mail-In) or delivering it in person. The full Service fee will be refunded to the original payment method.
8.2 Cancellation after the Customer Watch has been received
Once Time Armour has received your Customer Watch, you may still cancel the Service prior to installation commencing. In this case:
- The Service fee will be refunded.
- For Mail-In Services, a return shipping fee equal to Time Armour's actual cost of insured tracked return shipping may be deducted from the refund.
If installation has already commenced, the Service fee is not refundable, although Time Armour may, at its discretion, offer a partial refund reflecting the proportion of work not yet completed.
8.3 Cancellation by Time Armour
Time Armour reserves the right to cancel a Service booking at any time. If a booking is cancelled by Time Armour and payment has already been made, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method, including any return shipping cost where applicable.
9. Installation Services — Defective Service
If a defect in the installation arises within thirty (30) days of the Customer receiving the Customer Watch back from Time Armour, you are entitled to a remedy under the Service Warranty in clause 6.6 of the Terms of Service.
Time Armour will, at its discretion, re-perform the Service at no charge or refund the Service fee. Where the failure constitutes a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law, the choice of remedy is yours.
The following do not constitute a defective Service:
- Normal wear and tear of the film arising from regular use over time
- Accelerated wear caused by repeated friction with cloths, sleeves, fabrics, or other surfaces during normal wear
- Damage caused by Customer use, mishandling, or accident after the Service
- Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, solvents, or extreme temperatures
- Issues arising from Customer modification or attempted removal of the film
- Pre-existing conditions of the Customer Watch that were not caused by the Service
- Reduced longevity arising from inadequate cleanliness of the Customer Watch at the time of installation
- Slight visible imperfections inherent to the physical limitations of TPU film, including edge visibility, micro-bubbles, or minor surface variation on watches with aggressive curves, double-curved surfaces, complex case geometries, or unusual bracelet configurations
- Visibility of the film, including edges and surface texture, that varies with lighting conditions or viewing angle
10. Installation Services — Inspection Period
For Mail-In Services, you must inspect the Customer Watch upon receipt and notify Time Armour of any apparent damage or discrepancy within seven (7) days of delivery.
For In-Person Services, inspection occurs at the time of collection, and signing the handover form constitutes acceptance of the condition of the Customer Watch at that time.
Failure to notify Time Armour of any apparent damage or discrepancy within these timeframes will be deemed acceptance of the condition of the Customer Watch as delivered or collected.
11. Kit-to-Service Safety Net (Conversion Credit)
If you have purchased a Kit and are unable or unwilling to complete the installation, you may redeem the Kit cost as credit toward an Installation Service of the same model within thirty (30) days of the Kit purchase. The full terms of the safety net are set out in clause 6.15 of the Terms of Service.
The safety net is a credit, not a refund. If you wish to seek a refund of an unused Kit rather than convert to a Service, the Change of Mind, Faulty Product, and Exchange provisions of this policy apply.
12. Sale and Promotional Items
Kits or Services purchased as part of a sale, promotion, discount code, or special offer may be excluded from change-of-mind returns and exchanges at Time Armour's discretion. The terms of any specific promotion will be made clear at the time of purchase.
This does not affect any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law in respect of faulty or defective products.
13. Gift Purchases
Where a Kit or Service is purchased as a gift for a third party, the original purchaser is considered the Customer for the purposes of this policy.
Any refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Communications regarding returns, refunds, exchanges, or claims will be conducted with the original purchaser unless they confirm in writing that another party may act on their behalf.
This does not affect the rights of the gift recipient under the Australian Consumer Law in respect of faulty or defective products.
14. Eligibility Conditions and Returns Process
To assist with assessing any claim, Time Armour may request:
- Proof of purchase or booking
- Photos or videos of the product, the Customer Watch, or the installation
- Return of the product where reasonably required
Where a Kit is required to be returned to Time Armour as part of a claim or exchange, the Customer should:
- Return the Kit in its original packaging where reasonably possible
- Avoid further use or installation attempts unless necessary to identify a fault
- Use a tracked shipping method
- Retain proof of dispatch
For Kits, products should not be used or installed further unless necessary to identify a fault.
For Installation Services, where the alleged defect arose from the Service, the Customer should retain the Customer Watch in its post-Service condition (without further modification or attempted self-repair) and provide photographs or other supporting evidence on request.
Time Armour may decline to issue a refund, replacement, or exchange where a returned Kit is in a condition that prevents reasonable assessment of the alleged fault, or where damage is consistent with use or installation rather than a manufacturing defect.
15. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Where Time Armour's liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, Time Armour's liability is limited, at its option, to one or more of:
- Replacement of the product
- Repair of the product
- Re-supply of the service
- Refund of the purchase price or Service fee
In the case of a major failure of a Service under the Australian Consumer Law, you may choose to terminate the Service and obtain a refund, or recover compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
16. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase or booking.
Refunds typically appear within five (5) to ten (10) business days of approval, although the exact timeframe depends on the Customer's bank or payment provider. Time Armour does not control processing times once a refund has been issued.
17. How to Lodge a Claim
To lodge a return, refund, exchange, or warranty claim, please contact:
Email: info@timearmour.com
Please include your order or booking number, a clear description of the issue, and any supporting photos or other evidence. Time Armour will acknowledge receipt of your claim within five (5) business days and aim to provide a substantive response or resolution within twenty-one (21) days.
If a claim cannot be resolved directly between you and Time Armour, you may refer the matter to NSW Fair Trading or any other applicable consumer protection body.
